Hi,
I must correct few of your statements. First, pool is a form of billiards and not the other way around. Billiards is generally every game played on cloth-covered rectangular table (with or without pockets) with a cue stick and balls. While pool is the informal (yet very common) name given to American billiard games played with 15 colored and numbered balls on 6-pockets table. The billiard games played on a table with no pockets belong to the family of carom billiards games.
That was my lecture for the meantime…
