Taking a Break From Pilates

During a recent dinner, I had a discussion with a friend on core muscles and Pilates. It seems to me that many people have very poor conception and understanding about what Pilates fitness involves.

While I was trying hard to explain about what core muscles really were, my friend was trying to put up an argument on what he thought they were. He wasn’t convinced that core muscles help support the back, spinal and improve posture. Being a badminton player, he thought that was enough to acquire strong stomach muscles. I tried telling him that badminton had nothing to do with core and he was not receptive towards my explanation. I found myself hitting against a piece of white wall – pointless.

I decided to end the conversation and started to discuss on Christmas gifts for her and him. Since Christmas isn’t too far away, it’s time to plan my gift list and start shopping for good deals when promotion begins. I will be taking a break from Pilates the next couple of weeks as I take off for my yearly vacation. It’s time to workout in a different way – head to the beach, go for a swim or workout in a gym.
