Pilates is Great for Kids too

Recently, I sent my son for some gymnastic classes and after some observation in the classes, I realized they were also taught some exercises and movements to help with the core muscles. It reminds me that even young children are learning some Pilates moves which is a good thing.

In some Pilates studios, Pilates fitness has been extended to kids and this can teach the children flexibility and some fitness basics. I am encouraged to see senior working out in the studio even though some movements may be challenging for them. It may seem effective as fat burners for people who are overweight but Pilates is more than just keeping one’s weight in check. It helps to develop stronger core as well as effective spinal articulation. Over time, it can help to prevent injuries and back pain.

It is helpful to combine both Pilates Mat and Reformer as they offer different experiences for the participant. If you have never done Pilates before, it is good to start with a few private sessions before moving on to the group ones.
